From 19th to 21st May 2015, GOT-Training VIII was successfully organized at BEST CM Hotel, Ca Mau City by NASOS in
accordance with the Joint Oil Spill Preparedness, Response and Coorperation at Gulf of Thailand between Vietnam,
Thailand and Cambodia. The training course was hosted by the PV Drilling’s HSEQ Division. This is an annual oil spill
response training program for the administrative personnel as well as maritime administration from 14 coastal provinces
in the south area of Vietnam, and several oil and gas corporations, such as PVEP, PV Gas, PV Oil, PVFCCo, PVCFC… The
event was attended by the representatives from Vinasarcom and PetroVietnam.

For this year, the training program is focused on beach cleaning methods, net environmental benefit analysis, guidelines
for oil spill contingency planning at the unit level and assessment of the oil spill contingency plan. A tabletop
exercise was organized to help the provincial agencies improve their capability to verify and appraise the unit’s oil
spill contingency plan. On the third day, the trainees were invited to participate in a shoreline survey trip, from Nam
Can to Dat Mui.
