The sub-regional meeting of the implemetation of the Framework Programme for Joint Oil Spill Prepareness and Response in
the Gulf of Thailand – GOT NCPs Meeting 2014.
From December 3rd-05th, 2014 the 8th Annual National Contact Points Meeting on the Implementation of the Framework
Program for Joint Oil Spill Preparedness and Response in the Gulf of Thailand was successfully organized by NASOS in
collaboration with PEMSEA, participated by more than 54 delegates represented Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia as well as
international partners such as PEMSEA, GI SEA, IMO, ITOPF and OSRL. On behalf of the hosting country, the Vice Admiral –
Deputy General Commander in chief of the Vietnam People's Army – Vice Chairman of Vinasarcom Pham Ngoc Minh delivered
the opening speech and send the warmest welcome to all the delegations.
Representing Vietnam are the delegations from Vinasarcom, the Regional Oil Spill Response Centers as NASOS and SORCEM,
Regional Maritime Search & Rescue Centers, the Ministry of Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Defend, the
Maritime Bureau, Vietnam Coastal Guard… and delegations from the Industry as Petro Vietnam, PV Drilling, Vietsov Petro,
Chevron Thailand, Murphy Oil...

At the meeting, representatives of the participating countries presented what has been done in the field of oil spill
preparedness and response since the last annual meeting and approved the Action Plan of 2015. With the support by
PEMSEA, a 02 days workshop programme on Incident Management System has been carried out by IMO’s specialists, including
a table-top exercise designed for all the participants.
