The 2024 Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) took place on October 3rd in Ho Chi Minh City, and Petrovietnam Drilling & Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) was honored in two categories of Corporate Excellence Award and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong – President & CEO of PV Drilling received the Master Entrepreneur Award.
Founded in 2007, after 17 years of establishment and development, APEA is a prestigious award, attracting the participation of leading enterprises from 16 countries and territories throughout the Asia - Pacific region. In Vietnam, more than 300 enterprises, including leading enterprises in Vietnam, multinational enterprises with diverse industries and business fields, register to be reviewed for the award.
In 2024, with the subject “Celebrating Inclusive Entrepreneurship”, APEA seeks and honors pioneering businesses and entrepreneurs in the cause of equal business opportunities, actualizes a diversified economy, sustainable development and harmonizes economic, social, and environmental goals. Surpassing notable and potential nominees, PV Drilling excellently received the Corporate Excellence Award and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong – President & CEO of PV Drilling received the Master Entrepreneur Award.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2024 APEA Ceremony, Dr. Fong Chan Onn - Chairman of Enterprise Asia congratulated the award-winning organizations and individuals and emphasized that this is an important time to motivate businesses to create more comprehensive changes. He stated that, through programs to promote inclusive entrepreneurship, we can move towards a fairer society, increase employment opportunities for workers, and thereby build a more sustainable community.

Officially assuming the role of President & CEO of PV Drilling since 2019, during a challenging period for the oil and gas drilling industry, PV Drilling under the leadership of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong has not only overcome the double crisis caused by the decline in oil prices and the COVID-19 pandemic but also developed and expanded its business operations to international markets, including markets with strict protectionism policies such as Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia to create stability and new development opportunities. Thanks to his leadership, PV Drilling has maintained safe and high-performance production and business operations, won many important contracts and maintained a stable growth rate. In addition to expanding PV Drilling’s business overseas, he also focused on developing human resources, implementing human resource localization, bringing Vietnamese engineers to hold key positions on drilling rigs, saving costs and improving service quality.
