On the morning of December 12, 2024, at the headquarters of Petrovietnam Drilling & Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling), a kick-off ceremony for the "Provision of design and construction services for the well plugging and abandonment of Song Doc field, Song Doc field decommissioning project, offshore Vietnam” project was held.
Attending the Kick-off Ceremony, on behalf of the investor PVEP – POC, were Deputy Director Truong Tuan Anh and Nguyen Ngoc Trung, along with representatives from specialized departments; on behalf of PV Drilling, were Vice President Dinh Quang Nhut – Director of the project, Vice President Nguyen Dinh Duong – Deputy Director of the project, along with Director/Deputy Director of PV Drilling’s subsidiaries, including PVD DD, PVD Tech, PVD Baker Hughes, and PVD Logging. Representing PTSC – POS, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung – Project Manager, and specialized departments were in attendance.

The Kick-off Ceremony marks the next step following the turnkey contract signing ceremony for the Song Doc field decommissioning project between the investor PVEP – POC and the PVD – POS Consortium, witnessed by Leaders of Petrovietnam, PVEP, PV Drilling, and PTSC on November 26, 2024, in Hanoi.
The Song Doc wellhead platform was formally handed over to the PVD-POS Consortium to officially commence work on the planned project items
Marking the official commencement of the project, the Kick-off Ceremony aimed to finalize the detailed work plan and assign roles and responsibilities among the participating parties. Simultaneously, it served as a platform for all stakeholders to contribute their input, ensuring optimal preparation to achieve project objectives, timelines, and safety and quality standards.

Representing PV Drilling, the lead member of the PVD-POS Consortium responsible for Package 1 - Well Abandonment, Vice President Dinh Quang Nhut extended a warm welcome to all the leaders and project members attending the Ceremony. Mr. Nhut emphasized, “This project will be a key focus for PV Drilling in 2025. The PVD – POS Consortium is a model that displays the value of the service supply chain within the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ecosystem. PV Drilling is committed to allocating resources and collaborating seamlessly with our joint venture partner to ensure the efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly execution of all project categories, meeting all established timelines.”

Additionally, investor PVEP – POC has high expectations for the consortium's close collaboration, leveraging their existing experience to successfully complete the project on schedule, with the highest quality and efficiency.
