To put this rig into operation, PVD DD had to face challenges, among which technical issues were the most difficult problem that the staff had to work together to solve. This was also the first time PV Drilling independently implemented the reception and reactivation of a drilling rig abroad with its own specific difficulties. However, based on the achievements gained in the process of managing and operating the Corporation's jack-up rigs, especially the experience of implementing difficult and complex drilling projects at home and abroad, the Board of Management from both the Corporation and PVD DD are confident that the staff of the PVD DD and subsidiaries jointly implementing this project will successfully complete the assigned tasks.

The PV DRILLING VIII rig, invested in by PV Drilling in 2024, is part of a plan to expand the fleet of jack-up rigs to supply for the domestic and Southeast Asian markets. Accordingly, the PV DRILLING VIII rig reception and upgrade project includes two main phases: Phase 1 is a partial start-up in Labuan (Malaysia) from the end of December 2024 and is expected to tow the rig to Vietnam in February 2025; phase 2 is the complete reactivation of the rig in Vung Tau, including trial runs, acceptance testing, and readiness for operation, with the goal of completion in August 2025.
