On February 21 2024 in Brunei, the ‘Rig of the Year’ award ceremony for Petrovietnam Drilling & Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling)’s TAD – PV DRILLING V rig was held right on the rig, in a joyful and cozy atmosphere.
Attending the award ceremony, on the customer side, there were Mr. Malcolm K. Jones - Vice President in charge of Shell's drilling activities in Brunei (Vice President Wells Integrated Gas covering Wells Activities in Brunei); Mr. Wim Hinoul - General Manager Wells in charge of Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP)’s drilling activities; and leaders of divisions/departments participating in the contract C190015. On PV Drilling's side, there was the attendance of Mr. Dinh Quang Nhut - Vice President, along with representatives from PVD Drilling Division, Project management office in Brunei, and the entire team of personnel and employees working on the rig.

Previously, on January 23 2024, PV Drilling received the notification that the TAD – PV DRILLING V has been awarded ‘Rig of the Year’ for the category of rigs currently being supplied for Shell Global.

PV Drilling has been carrying out deepwater drilling services in Brunei since January 2022 and has continuously received high praise from BSP clients. Following the success of 2022, the PV DRILLING V continues to affirm its position in 2023 with a series of outstanding achievements, such as completing a total of 4/10 wells ahead of schedule, exceeded records in well completion equipment release and drill rod connection time; successfully operate 24-hour anchor handling for the first time during rig move; the project “Design and fabrication of the force oil feed lubrication system for fairleaders of Anchor Mooring system” by the project team of PVD Drilling Division was honored a national excellence award at the ‘One million initiative’ ceremony by Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; achieved ‘One Year Goal Zero’ in HSSE (Health - Safety - Security - Environment) work in 2023.

It is affirmable that in the 2 years of providing services in Brunei, the entire team of TAD - PV DRILLING V employees and staff have devotedly contributed and are deserving of excellent achievements mentioned above. This is the result of the persistent implementation of corporate governance of PV Drilling in general, and PVD Drilling Division in particular, the unit which directly operates the rig team in recent years, on the basis of strengthening and increasing training and developing high-tech human resources, rewarding talented employees to maintain and attract the workforce, contributing to the overall success of the corporation in the context that the petroleum market is entering a new growth cycle, demands for drilling rigs and rig workforce are increasing.
