Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Service Corporation (HOSE: PVD) announced that the PV DRILLING I jack-up rig will return to Vietnam upon completion of its drilling campaign in Malaysia to provide services for client PVEP Cuu Long starting from March 2026.
According to the signed contract, PV Drilling will provide the PV DRILLING I jack-up rig for Cuu Long Petroleum Operating Branch – PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation Limited (PVEP Cuu Long), with 3 firm wells at the Su Tu field cluster, Block 15-1, for an estimated duration of 249 days.

PV DRILLING I jack-up rig
The PV DRILLING I is PV Drilling’s first offshore drilling rig and was put into operation in 2007. Throughout its 18 years of operation, the rig has consistently completed drilling wells ahead of schedule, helping both domestic and international operators to save costs, and has received numerous letters of commendation from clients. The PV DRILLING I is also proud to be the cradle and training ground for the development of PV Drilling’s operations management team, encompassing both the onshore (office) and offshore (rig-based) personnel.
PVEP Cuu Long is a long-standing client of PV Drilling. During the drilling campaign of the SNN 3P well in 2014, PV DRILLING I had drilled a total measured depth of 7,300 mMD, which represents the longest well drilled in the granite basement in the Cuu Long Basin - Vietnam to date. The client expects the rig to continue maintaining high performance, ensuring safety, efficiency, good luck, and delivering added value in the upcoming drilling campaign.
